MOTI Goldhill Bridge Replacement

Client: Formula Contractors

Project: Project consisted of the replacement of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Hwy 31 Goldhill Bridge over the Lardeau River. The existing bridge structure and abutments were dismantled, making way for the construction of a new 55-meter span bridge, abutments, and approaches in close proximity upstream. The Lardeau River holds great ecological significance as a vital watershed in the region, serving as the primary spawning tributary for kokanee in Kootenay Lake. The project's successful completion ensures the continued connectivity and preservation of this important aquatic ecosystem.

Services: Masse Environmental was retained by Formula Contractors to provide environmental support services that included a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), conducted fish and wildlife surveys, hydroacoustic monitoring, water quality sampling, and provided environmental monitoring and reporting services during construction. Masse Environmental's contributions played a vital role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, minimizing potential impacts on natural resources, and promoting responsible construction practices.
